I am sooooooo sorry that I haven't written in a long time. Actually, it's been over a month, sorry!!
I'll try to catch you up on everything, well that should be easy, not a whole lot has happened. As far as my mission papers go, they have been submitted! But that's pretty much it. I submitted them 9 days ago, and my best friend Grace got her call in just 11 days! So I was really hoping to get my call this week... and then I found out that my papers spent all last week just sitting in my stake presidents box. So I was kind of bummed about that. But he eventually sent them in and my bishop has been updating me on their progress. They made it to the mission department yesterday and this morning they were "ready for assignment." My bishop told me that they usually do the assignments on Thursdays, so if everything goes smoothly, they'll assign me on Thursday, mail it next Tuesday, and I'll have my call Wednesday or Thursday next week!
I'm so excited, I feel like I've been really busy getting my papers put together and everything, but when I look back I realize that 99% of what I've done has just been waiting. And that's where I'm stuck again, just waiting. I'm doing my best to fill the time with preparing myself spiritually for my mission, reading the scriptures, praying more regularly, studying Preach My Gospel, and, as many of you know, I'm taking a mission prep class from Brad Wilcox! He is amazing and I know that his class is really going to help me on my mission. I also want to start taking a temple prep class at church, but because of regional conference, the temple dedication, and general conference, our ward hasn't met in a while.
I'm also trying to prepare physically for my mission. In the mission handbook it says that missionaries go to bed at 10:30pm and wake up at 6:30am, so I've been trying to do that... kind of. Last night I went to bed at 11pm and this morning I got up at 7:30am so... I'm getting closer haha. I'm also trying to lose weight. I've been overweight my whole life and so I'm really trying to fix that. I've actually done a lot better since I've moved out on my own and closer to the Provo Rec Center. I try to go to the rec center 3-4 times a week and I can really tell a difference. The difference might not be visible yet, but I feel so much better. I still need to work on eating better haha. Working at an ice cream place doesn't really inspire me to eat healthy, but I'm doing my best. I have lost a few pounds and I hope they keep coming off. I'll try to keep you updated on that as well.
I know that as I do my best to prepare both physically and spiritually, I will be blessed. I can already tell how blessed I am to even be going on a mission and to be making physical and spiritual improvement. I am so thankful to Heavenly Father for the opportunity I have to go on a mission and I'm thankful that I have this amazing, healthy body to carry me through.
I love you all, thank you for your love and support as I prepare to serve. :)
